GREETINGS FROM SAN ANTONIO

I am in San Antonio at the moment working out Antonio Daniels. He makes his home here. San Antonio is a great city. I love it here and the people are all so friendly. I fell in love with this city from the first time I was here. That was when Utah lost to Kentucky in the Final Four. Antonio and I have been working out at the Spurs practice facility. WHAT A GYM!!!! It has everything there for the players. Why would anyone want to leave. Two full courts, state of the art weight room with all the bells and whistles. Outside they have a swimming pool, sand track and an incline to run up. The incline looks like a ski slope.

Everyone at the facility treated me so well. I would just like to thank the entire Spurs organization for all of their help, hospitality and use of their facility. I am already looking forward to returning and I haven’t even left yet. Hopefully I will get out of town before Hurrican Ike arrives.

Antonio is a true professional. He is always in great shape and always takes care of his body. He has been working out at the Spurs facility all summer long and looks like he could play forty minutes a night. He has been very impressive in our workouts. We go twice a day. First workout is at 6:30 am and we go for about two hours, working on form shooting, shooting off the bounce, as well as catch and shoot. Then we are back at it at 7:30 pm. During this workout we have been concentrating on his three point shot. We need him to shoot it like he did in his fourth year when he knocked down 40% from there.

At the facility I was fortunate to run into  some former campers. Brian Morrison, Juan Dixon, Salim Stoudamire and Desmond Farmar. They were all there working out or being invited to the Spurs camp. I wish them all the best of luck and the best of health.

I have been so fortunate working out our veterans this summer. My trips to Charlotte to see Antawn, Brendan and Darius are always a joy. These three guys come in and really work. Antonio is no different. Looking forward to getting back to DC and work with our younger guys. It will be interesting to see the improvement of Andray, Dominic and Nick. We need for them to step it up this season.

Camp starts up for us on the 26th of September at Virginia Commonwealth University. I will keep everyone posted as to what is happening in Richmond. Take care and God Bless.

Everyone say a prayer for the friends and families of 9/11. It is so hard to believe that it was seven years ago.
